Harris Announces Sponsorship of Money Smart Week
CHICAGO, May 4, 2006 - Harris is one of more than 150 local organizations participating in Chicago's fifth annual Money Smart Week, a week-long event scheduled for May 1-6 and featuring more than 250 free seminars on personal finance topics.
The City Treasurer's Small Business Expo is a forum, free to attendees, designed to provide assistance to small business owners and those who would like to become one. The Expo will bring local government, lending institutions and technical advisors together to provide information and direction vital to the success of a small business. Existing and prospective business owners can attend workshops, network with other business professional and obtain useful information from technical advisors and representatives of financial institutions, including Harris.
Harris experts will be presenting more than 40 of seminars on topics as money management, consumer credit and home-buying. See schedule below.

Created by the Federal Res erve Bank of Chicago and members of the Money Smart Advisory Council, Money Smart Week is designed to educate consumers about money management and create awareness of financial education programs on topics such as budgeting, saving and using credit wisely.
"Money Smart Week's community-based efforts and commitment by its partners continue to make this annual event a success," said Chicago Fed President Michael Moskow. "We hope Chicago area consumers and children will again take part in this year's diverse personal finance offerings."
With consumers having many financial options now available to them, financial education is vital, he continued.
"Our financial environment has become complex," Moskow said. "Money doesn't come with an instruction manual, but learning how to use it wisely is knowledge that lasts a lifetime."
