Harris Endows Crown Point Community Foundation

Harris Endows Crown Point Community Foundation

Crown Point, Ind., October 16, 2006 – The Board of Directors of the Crown Point Community Foundation today announced the establishment of the Harris N.A. Operating Endowment Fund with a gift of $10,000. This fund will underwrite the operating costs of the Foundation, helping them focus on their mission of creating positive change in the Crown Point community via scholarships to fund individual educational achievement; and grants to support the arts, culture, health and well-being of community members.

"Just as Harris is here to help customers achieve financial goals, the Crown Point Community Foundation is here to help the community reach its goals," said John Rudy, regional president, Harris. "Supporting the Foundation with a permanent endowment is a natural fit with Harris' history of community-focused philanthropy."

The Foundation's Board of Directors has a three year goal of raising one million dollars to underwrite operational costs. "Gifts to cover administrative costs are a tremendous help and can be difficult to find," said Joe Allegretti, chairman, Crown Point Community Foundation Board. "This generous gift from Harris is most appreciated. By moving us closer to our fundraising goal, we can focus that much more time and energy on helping the members of our community."
