HARRIS AND BMO CAPITAL MARKETS COMPANY-WIDE VOLUNTEER DAY

Executives and Employees demonstrate the company’s commitment to helping its communities

CHICAGO, October 10, 2007– Harris Chief Executive Officer Ellen Costello joined hundreds of employees who picked up paintbrushes, pushed brooms, built shelves and otherwise offered a hand to organizations in Illinois and Indiana in celebration of the Harris-BMO Capital Markets “Our Ambition is to Help” Volunteer Day.

“Harris has a long history of being an active, supportive member of the communities we serve, we are proud to help on so many levels – from helping families realize their dreams to lending a hand to the organizations that do so much to help make our cities and neighborhoods strong,” Costello said. “Being able to give back to the communities that have supported us over the past 125 years is both a rewarding and valuable experience for us all of us.”

In preparation for the Harris and BMO Capital Markets United Way annual giving campaign, which kicks off on October 19, 2007, and in celebration of Harris’ 125th anniversary, employees and executives partnered with United Way agencies in Illinois and Indiana for projects ranging from painting and landscaping to working cash registers and setting up a children’s library.
