    Harris Announces Community Hero of the Game
    Bill Hill of Gary, Indiana Named Harris Community Hero of the Game

    CHICAGO, January 11, 2008 – Harris is pleased to congratulate Bill Hill of Gary, Ind., who was recognized as a Harris Community Hero of the Game. Hill was honored by Harris and the Bulls before the Chicago Bulls – New York Knicks game at the United Center on January 8.

    Hill was recognized by Harris for his commitment to serving his community. Hill has been an active volunteer for nearly 50 years and has received 13 community service plaques, 20 community and human service awards and in 2005 a banquet was held in Hill’s honor to recognize him for meritorious service to the citizens of Lake County. He currently volunteers for:

    • The Boys and Girls Club
    • The Second Chance Foundation
    • Gary Neighborhood Services Project Respect
    • Child Abuse Prevention Program

    As part of the bank's presenting sponsorship agreement with the team, Harris and the Bulls are joining forces to recognize a Community Hero of the Game before every Bulls home game this year. The program recognizes individuals who generously give their time and talents to help our communities thrive. The designated hero receives two tickets to a game and is recognized by Bulls team captains at center court prior to tip-off.
