Indiana BMO Harris Employees Make a Difference on Volunteer Day

INDIANAPOLIS, IN (June 5, 2012) - Indiana employees of M&I and Harris, a part of BMO Financial Group, are setting out to make a difference. On June 7, over 300 employees in Indiana will be taking time away from their desk to make a difference in their local communities. Organizations providing services ranging from feeding the hungry to caring for children and adults with disabilities and urban beautification to housing will benefit from their efforts.

One project includes working with the Felege Hiyot Center, which teaches the virtues of community service to the growing second generation Ethopian population in Indianapolis through gardening and environmental preservation. BMO Harris employees will spend the day helping to enlarge and add on to their vegetable and flower garden.

These activities are part of BMO Volunteer Day in which over 6,500 BMO Financial Group employees across North America. will be participating in more than 400 projects t o improve their communities. BMO Volunteer Day is an initiative that encourages employees to recognize the needs of their local community, establish a volunteer project and mobilize teams to fill that need. This is the first North American-wide BMO Volunteer Day that initially started with efforts at both M&I in 2001 and Harris and BMO Capital Markets in 2007.
