Minnesota BMO Harris Employees Volunteer to Make a Difference
MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL, MI (June 5, 2012) - Minnesota employees of M&I, a part of BMO Financial Group, are setting out to make a difference. On June 7, nearly 200 employees in the Twin Cities area will be taking time away from their desk to make a difference in their local communities. Organizations providing services ranging from feeding the hungry to providing housing will benefit from their efforts.
These activities are part of BMO Volunteer Day in which over 6, 500 BMO Financial Group employees across North America will be participating in more than 400 projects to improve their communities. BMO Volunteer Day is an initiative that encourages employees to recognize the needs of their local community, establish a volunteer project and mobilize teams to fill that need. This is the first North American-wide BMO Volunteer Day that initially started with efforts at both M&I in 2001 and Harris and BMO Capital Markets in 2007.
"We have a history of serving the community and understand our responsibility to help make it easy for employees to support area charitable organizations," said Jim Sathre, Senior Vice President. "Volunteer Day is just one of the many ways our employees make their individual communities a better place to live."
