r with Pleasure during the King of the Beasts Weekend
BMO Harris and Zoo guests donate toward lion enrichment items
INDIANAPOLIS, June 26, 2012 – The king of the beasts was the center of attention at the Indianapolis Zoo June 23 & 24, during Lion Awareness Weekend, presented by BMO Harris Bank.
"The Indianapolis Zoo is a great asset to the community," said Tim Massey, Indiana President, BMO Harris Bank. "Supporting the Zoo allows us to help enrich the lives of families in the area and support the Zoo's efforts for lion conservation around the world."
During the Lion Awareness Weekend, visitors were able to learn more about African lions through presentations and viewing of lion artifacts. Children had their faces painted like lions and enjoyed a magic show and took a spin on the wheel of fortune for prizes. Hubert, the BMO Harris lion mascot and Kiburi, the Zoo's lion mascot also made appearances. In addition, guests and BMO Harris donated to Paws for a Cause to buy enrichment items for Nyack, Shamfa and Zuri, the three lions living at the Zoo.
For the past six years, BMO Harris Bank has sponsored Lion Awareness Weekend at the Indianapolis Zoo, which helps promote the Zoo's overall mission of animal conservation. For more information about the lion exhibit and the Indianapolis Zoo, visit www.indyzoo.com.
