MILWAUKEE, WI--(Marketwired - Oct 28, 2013) - BMO Harris Bank today congratulated the United Way of Greater Milwaukee on surpassing their goal by three years to reduce teen pregnancy in the city.
In 2008 the City of Milwaukee and a group of community groups, spearheaded by United Way, set a goal to reduce the teen pregnancy rate by 46 percent by 2015. Mayor Tom Barrett announced last week that the goal has been achieved ahead of target, with the rate down 50 percent in only five years.
"This community coalition, led by the United Way of Greater Milwaukee, ha s made incredible progress on an ambitious goal in the last five years. As a longstanding partner of United Way, we are thrilled to see the success they have had with this campaign," said Brad Chapin, Executive Vice-President, BMO Harris Bank and 2013 United Way Milwaukee Campaign Co-Chair. "As BMO Harris Bank kicks off our annual Employee Giving campaign next month we will undoubtedly be inspired by the organization's ability to do good and make a difference in the community."
